Journal of Biomechanical Science and Engineering   Foreword On behalf of Bioengineering Division of Japanese Society of Mechanical Engineers (JSME), I am honored to announce the inauguration of Journal of Biomechanical Science and Engineering (JBSE), one of electrical journals published by JSME. JSME has published JSME International Journals. However, JSME has decided to stop issuing the Journals and starting the electrical journals, in order to respond diverse requests of readers and realize prompt reviewing and issuing the articles. According to the direction, Bioengineering Division, a division of the Japan Society of Mechanical Engineers, now announces the inauguration of Journal of Biomechanical Science and Engineering. I encourage all the researchers in the field of bioengineering, not only in Japan, but also in the Asia Pacific region and from all of the world, to submit their excellent articles to Journal of Biomechanical Science and Engineering. I hope that all of you utilize the Journal as a stage of active discussions and scientific progress in the field of bioengineering. Finally, I would like to express my sincere gratitude to all the committee members and advisory board of the Journal.
